LUFT
Berlin / 2023 / DOCK ART & theater o.N / 60 Min
Choreograph Nir de Volff creates for the firs ttime a non verbal dance show for both children from 3 years old and all public.
What happens to the air we breathe into our bodies? How can we use our own breath to find freedom in the body and connect with others? The breath is the simplest and yet most complex personal tool to express our self. All of our joy, happiness, fears, emotional heaviness, and traumas reside in our chest, not just in our brain or under our skin. LUFT is an interplay between restrictions and the search for freedom of movments. The process of liberating the dancers' bodies begins.
A protected space is to be created in which a playful approach to fragility, monstrosity and authenticity is practiced. It is a common search for the human and how we preserve being human.
At the end of the performance, children and adults are invited to dance and breathe together with the dancers.
In this choreography, Nir de Volff, together with the dancers and the audience, embarks on a search for the human and what preserves humanity. At the end of each performance, children and adults are invited to breathe and dance together with the dancers, loud and quiet, lively and subdued and always full of freedom.
